“January 5, 2021
Dear Manitoba Hunting Guide,
On May 22nd, 2020, the Honourable Blaine Pedersen, Minister of Agriculture and Resource Development, announced the transition of the administration of the Hunting Guide Licensing Program to the Manitoba Lodge and Outfitters Association (MLOA). Over the past several months, significant progress has been made to transfer the Program from the Department to MLOA. As of this spring, the MLOA will accept, review and assess guide licensing licence applications, administer examinations for guides, and issue hunting guide licences on behalf of the Minister of Agriculture and Resource Development.
Message from MLOA:
MLOA is a province-wide association that represents fishing, hunting and outdoor tourism operators in Manitoba. Its members are seasoned professionals when it comes to putting clients onto big fish and trophy game, but they are also just as dedicated to ensuring all their guests have a safe, comfortable and enjoyable experience that they will want to re-live year after year.
MLOA is excited for the opportunity to administer the Hunting Guide Licensing Program and is looking forward to working with all licensed hunting guides in Manitoba for years to come. One of the most important early steps of making this transition seamless is the cooperation and support of currently licensed guides and outfitters. At this time, we are asking you to email the following information to support the transition process and to ensure MLOA can communicate directly with you.
Please send the following information to [email protected] by February 28th,2021 or call MLOA at 1-204-772-1912.

MLOA’s top priority is to develop and deliver a user friendly and easily accessible renewal and licensing experience for huntng guides. We are also looking forward to seeking your input through the licensing transition and expanding our educational programming.
In closing, MLOA would like to thank the Manitoba government for entrusting us with this responsibility. We look forward to working in partnership with Manitoba Agriculture and Resource Development, Hunting Outfitters and Guides, and other stakeholders to build a program that sets high standards for Hunting Guide Licensing in Canada.”
